WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST SESSION?
You’ll get a friendly welcome by the ladies and your trainer before we kick things off with a warm up. We’ll explain how the workout will run, demonstrate the exercises you’ll be doing, personally guide you throughout the class, and assist you with your technique so you feel confident.
I HAVE JUST HAD A BABY - WHEN CAN I START?
You may be able to return to exercise 6 – 8 weeks after birth. Please get in touch and we can run through our exercise pre-screening. A clearance letter from your doctor or midwife may be required.
We strongly recommend that you have a physio assessment before starting any exercise programme.
AM I FIT ENOUGH?
We know that joining an exercise group can be seriously daunting, and most women are nervous about their first class. Our community is the most amazing bunch of females, who are super supportive, welcoming, friendly and FUN! Our classes have women of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels and are 100% judgment free. Please don’t worry about being able to keep up, LOTS of our Mums were worried about their fitness or size before they started but we work with all levels of fitness and design our sessions to allow people to go at their own pace. The culture at Mums Fitness Co. is very inclusive and not at all competitive, the most important thing is to just start.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY?
Depending on the injury or issue this is usually fine. We can alter most exercises to accommodate things like bad backs, knees, ankles, weak pelvic floor, abdominal separation etc. Just make sure to let us know in advance so we can plan for you. And make sure it’s ok with your health care professional first!
WHAT TYPE OF EXERCISES WILL WE BE DOING?
We will be doing a mixture of weights, cardio, HIIT, Tabata, and resistance training. Perfect for fat burning and body toning!
CAN I DO A CASUAL CLASS?
Yes. If there is a spare space. Casual classes are $25.
WHAT IF ITS RAINING?
This is an all weather training group. If the weather is deemed unsafe the group will be cancelled and a make up class will be offered. In the event of cancellation, your trainer will send you a txt that morning.
We also understand that training in the rain with young children is not ideal.
If you would prefer not to come to your scheduled class due to weather conditions then a make up class can be done at another time.
WHO LOOKS AFTER MY CHILD?
Our wonderful onsite nanny will be there to look after your children.
Babies and children of all ages are welcome. You are more than welcome to keep your child beside you. Once you and your child are happy thats all that matters!
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS UNSETTLED?
If your child is unsettled please feel free to go to them. Our nanny will call you if you need to change a nappy or if they think your child needs a cuddle.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
All you need are your joggers, your gym gear, a water bottle and a sweat towel. We supply all the equipment required for your sessions! If it’s your first time please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time so we can meet each other and have a quick chat.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is plenty of parking in Centennial park! Park along Grand Drive.
IMAGES & SOCIAL MEDIA
We take a bunch of pics at our sessions and some are used on social media or for different marketing campaigns. If you do not want you and/or your kids images to be used for this purpose please let us know. We will make sure that we follow your instruction on this, we totally understand!
